Scanner Not Working on Windows 11/10

3) On your keyboard, press the logo key Windows and the button R at the same time to recall the box Run.
4) Type services.msc and click the button OK to open the window Services:
5) Right-click Windows Image Acquisition (WIA)then press on Property.
6) Make sure the option Startup Type is set to Automatic is that Service Status is Runningthen click on Apply > OK.
7) Check if the scanner works now
Update Epson Scanner Driver
EPSON scanner driver may have been removed after Windows update. Or the installed drivers may not be compatible with Windows 11/10. To solve the problem you can try updating the drivers scanner.
There are two ways to get the right drivers for your Epson scanner: manually or automatically.
Manual driver update: You can manually update your Epson scanner driver by visiting official website from Epson to download and check for the latest driver. Make sure you only choose the driver compatible with your Windows 11/10 variant.

Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) is a Microsoft model that allows graphics software to communicate with imaging hardware such as scanners and cameras. So you should enable WIA service in your computer if your scanner stops working. Here’s what you need to do:

The Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) service depends on the Shell Hardware Discovery service, and the Shell Hardware Discovery service depends on these services: RPC Remote Procedure Call, DCOM Server Process Launcher, and RPC Endpoint Mapper.
Fix 3: Update HP scanner drivers
Another very frequent cause that causes the HP scanner to malfunction (or not be detected) is the presence of outdated or even missing drivers. To solve the problem you need to update the drivers scanner. How to do this update?
Manual update: You can manually update the HP scanner driver by visiting the official website from HP to search for and then download the latest driver. Make sure you select drivers compatible with your HP scanner model.

Fix 4: Run troubleshooter
There is a possibility that there is something wrong with the scanner, and if so, running the Windows troubleshooter will fix it. Here are the steps to follow.
Type cmd in the Windows search bar and then select Run as administrator.
Copy and paste the following command line into the Command Prompt window and press Sending.
msdt.exe -id DeviceDiagnostic
click on After you in the window that appears and the troubleshooter will begin to automatically detect hardware problems.
Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the troubleshooting and resolve the problem with your scanner.
Once this is done, test the scanner again and see if it works properly.
Fix 5: Launch System File Checker
System File Checker (SFC) is a built-in feature of Windows that scans for corrupted system files and repairs them automatically. HP scan may not work due to some corrupted system files, so you can try SFC to solve the problem.
a) Type cmd in the search box, right-click Command Prompt and select Run as administrator.
b) In Command Prompt enter the following command and then press Sending.
sfc /scannow
c) Wait for the verification to complete 100%. This can take some time.
d) Once completed, type exit in the command prompt and press Sending to close the window.
Restart your computer and see if the scanner starts working again.
