We have already seen in a previous article how to synchronize Outlook contacts with iPhone, using a program such as TunesGO, therefore without the help of iTunes or other Apple services. If you are on this page your need is probably to synchronize not so much your contacts, but your Outlook calendar with your iPhone. How to do this synchronization quickly and easily? Fortunately, there are several methods that can help you with this operation.
The “official” method is to use iTunes, but to tell the truth it is perhaps the most complex and riskiest method. All it takes is one small mistake to delete all the information you have saved in your Outlook calendar, or on your iPhone.
For this reason we want to point out below two alternative methods to iTunes for sync Outlook calendars with iPhone. These two methods use these two services:
Using iCloud to sync Calendars between Microsoft Outlook and iPhone
Using iCloud to sync Microsoft Outlook and iPhone calendars is not complex but still requires a lot of attention. This may require a few more steps than iTunes, but it’s still pretty simple.
This procedure will first sync both of your calendars in the cloud. Then you can sync your computer and phone with the cloud. With the almost ubiquitous use of cloud technologies today, this process will probably seem very familiar to you, so have no fear and proceed as indicated in the steps described below!
Let’s start with your iPhone!
You open Settings on your iPhone. Go to your screen Apple ID and tap on the entry for iCloud. Here you can activate the switch next to Calendars. This will sync your calendars with iCloud.
Now you need to make sure it is installed on your PC iCloud for Windows. If it isn’t there you can download it from here official site. Here you can find the traditional iCloud control panel for Windows or get an updated version of the app from Microsoft. Both versions offer almost identical features and work the same way when syncing calendars.
After downloading the app, open the installation package and follow the on-screen instructions. If you don’t have administrator privileges on your PC, you may need to ask a system administrator for help with this step.
Now that you have iCloud on your desktop computer, make sure you have theApple ID and password ready for use. Then, open the application and log in.
In the main iCloud window, you’ll see a series of icons with checkboxes next to them. Check the box for mail, contacts, calendars and tasks with Outlook. Then click Apply in the lower right corner of the screen.
A dialog box will now appear asking you whether you want to upload all of your calendars, contacts, and tasks, or whether you want to choose which ones to upload. Selecting the second option will give you the ability to review available content and deselect content you prefer not to sync. Then click Continues.
At this point, the sync process will run its course without any action on your part. When the process is complete, all you have to do is open the Calendar app on your iPhone and go to Calendar view in Outlook. Once both are open, double-check that your calendar events are synced between the two devices.
This method of syncing calendars between Outlook and iPhone gives you the control to manage your calendars natively on both your iPhone and your PC. Performing the process this way will allow third-party calendar apps like Calendly to access accounts on your phone, opening up many opportunities for easier appointment setting, time management and email scheduling.
However, if you don’t want to play with your iPhone’s settings to carry out these processes, there is an even easier way to sync your calendar Outlook with your iPhone. Here are the details below.
