First Office for iPad update arrives with print support

Recently Microsoft launched the long-awaited Office for iPad enhanced to work with touch, since then millions of users downloaded Word, Excel, and PowerPoint in the popular tablet. And even though the suite of apps quickly became the most downloaded app in the Apple Store to the point that Apple’s CEO, Tim Cook, said “If it had been done earlier, it would’ve been better for Microsoft frankly,” the suite had a few features missing, such as the ability to print and SmartGuides for PowerPoint. Well, today the company is rolling out the first Office for iPad update and now you can print and use SmartGuides, along with some other improvements.

Furthermore, in Word for iPad, users can print a document with or without markup. In Excel for iPad, users can print selection, single worksheet or the whole document.
  • SmartGuides: In PowerPoint users can now align pictures, shapes, and textboxes as user move them around on a slide.
  • AutoFit: In Excel now means users can adjust the width of multiple rows or the height of multiple columns simultaneously.
